Illegally importing Latin America’s greatest hits, spanning 100 Years Of Songitude. Mora Latino have been smuggling the New World & Caribbean’s hottest tunes into Britain, right under the noses of the ruling regime. What a coup!
Injecting joy directly into your soul, Mora Latino insert revolutionary hip-snaking grooves into their music…just try NOT to dance.
Bolivian guitarist/singer/songwriter Victor Alarcòn leads this lively latin band, backed with harmonised vocals from Cuban Trés guitarist Guillermo Hill & baby-bass player Jonny Gee, with a light sprinkling of latin percussion.
Imagine a heady cocktail night Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot and really Living La Vida Loca, sandwiched between a super Smooth Carlos Santana and the bourgeois-but-beautiful Girl From Ipanema. Add a dash of spicy Cuban rum from the Buena Vista Social Club and squeeze in a little island romance on the zesty beaches of Montserrat...sip slowly…and enjoy.
With songs like the 1963 hit Mas Que Nada (Sergio Mendes/Black Eyed Peas) to Prince Royce’s 2025 chart-topping “How Deep Is Your Love?” (by the BeeGees), Mora Latino smash out the best of samba, salsa, surf & ska...plus pop, reggaetón & rumba...backed up by batucada & Bossa nova, Spanglish gipsy & flamenco tunes from Puerto Rico & Panama, Bolivia & Brazil, Cuba & Colombia, Argentina and…er…Oasis — as well as New York’s Latin Quarter…you know: “I Like It Like That!”
- Victor Alarcòn (Venezuelan Guitar & Vocals)
- Ernesto Cutiño (Cuban Tres & Vocals)
- Jonny Gee (Contrabajo+percusiòn)

thursday throwdown with mazza
So that is Thursday Throwdown exactly? Each Thursday after 11pm, we’re switching it up at Nightjar. Firstly there will be a free, late set of live music from 11.30 pm. But, better than that, thanks to Don Julio, we’re going to drink like it’s 2010! Our special late-night menu is a nod to the days (and prices!) of when Nightjar first opened, fifteen years ago.
A gifted guitarist and singer-songwriter, Mazza has been a defining presence in the UK blues scene since 2009. With his new band, Mazza has masterfully blended deep Southern blues with the vibrancy of a modern four-piece rock ensemble. This unique fusion of classic and contemporary elements sets Mazza apart as a dynamic and innovative force in the blues genre. He is a regular performer at venues like London's Ain't Nothing But...
