END OF PROHIBITION NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION WITH THE DIXIE TICKLERS!
1. (in the US during Prohibition) an illicit liquor shop or drinking club.
2. “so called because of the practice of speaking quietly about such a place in public, or when inside it, so as not to alert the police or neighbours"
They say stirred drinks came about because they didn't want the police to hear shaking of ice and bust an illegal speakeasy… In December 1933 the ban on the sale of alcohol was lifted after thirteen years and the drinks scene exploded. Celebrate the End of 2018 with our End of Prohibition New Year’s Eve Celebration! It’s time to dress up, let your hair down and party like it’s the first time you had a legal drink in 13 years!
In partnership with Moet Hennessy, we’ll be bringing you the best drinks and live music in London. Thanks to our generous sponsor we will also be offering a special menu of discounted cocktails all night… plus a few Nightjar favourites!
We’re open from 8pm for cocktails, tapas and piano music to ease you into the celebratory mood. As we get closer to midnight things are going to get a little livelier: from 10.30pm, The Dixie Ticklers will take to the stage. Transforming and revisiting classic New Orleans music, The Dixie Ticklers combine their deep love and understanding of early jazz with a truly modern aesthetic and musical vision.
Tickets are £75 per person and included in the price is entry, champagne on arrival, live music and champagne again at midnight!
This is not a night you want to miss - we’re calling time on the year with the same style they called time on Prohibition!
We can’t wait to ring in 2019 with you!
